ArcPad Application Builder

Product Overview

Although ArcPad is designed to be flexible and easy to use, you may want the interface to reflect your own preferences and the way you work. You can customize ArcPad using the ArcPad Application Builder. All customization is performed on the desktop and deployed to ArcPad on the mobile device. The ArcPad Application Builder includes a copy of ArcPad, ArcPad Studio (the desktop customization application), detailed online documentation, sample code, and first-year maintenance.

Customization Environment

Many of the customization and personalization tasks are performed directly using ArcPad Studio and require little or no programming. For more complex tasks, ArcPad exposes an extensive object model that can be accessed by writing VBScripts.

Microsoft XML Parser

The ArcPad Application Builder requires Microsoft XML Parser (MSXML) 3.0 Service Pack (SP) 2 or higher. The MSXML 3.0 SP 2 release is included with Windows XP and Internet Explorer 6.0. If you already have one of these products, you do not need to upgrade. If you do not, you can download MSXML 3.0 SP 2.

Microsoft Script Encoder

ArcPad Studio allows you to encode your customization and VBScript source code files using the Microsoft Script Encoder. Encoding your files allows you to protect your development investment by making your source files unreadable. Download the Microsoft Script Encoder.
